Elf Shoe Cards

Hi Guys!

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that you could turn the elf shoe cut file given in that post into a shaped card, after I posted it I thought what the heck, I’ll do it for you :)

So, I have a choice of 2 for you, a side hinged version or one with the hinge at the top. There isn’t a great deal of difference but you may be able to see that the first card is a top opening version and has a flat top.

This is the side opening version and has more shape to the top but has a flat section on the heel, not much of a difference but you can chose which you prefer :)

I cut my card bases in some red shimmery card and the top from some similar gold shimmer card. I threaded some jingle bells and sewed them onto the tips of my gold card and stuck to the back with strong tape then added some gold and red ribbons before attaching to my card bases to cover all of the thread and ribbon ends. I cut a sentiment in some more shimmer card and glued directly to the front of the card.

This is a simple card to make but the jingle bells will no doubt be a hit with the little ones in my family.

Elf Shoes

Good Evening!

I have an Elf Shoe Cut File for you today, I’ve turned mine into tags but one or a pair would be great on the front of a card or for Christmas Scrapbook pages too. Another idea would be to make an Elf Shoe shaped card, simply mirror your base piece (the green layer in my tag) ensuring they overlap slightly and weld together, fold along the join, then add your top piece (the red layer in my tag) to the front of the card.

I’ve also added a pair of the elf shoes as a digi stamp and a couple of digi sentiments for you to print off if you don’t have an electronic cutter.

I cut my shoe pieces in bright red and green card then welded the 2 shapes together and cut a white layer for the back of my tag so I could write a message. Before I attached the pieces together I put some thread through some small jingle bells, I tied a knot in the thread then stuck them to the back of the red piece with some strong tape. I added some thread to another bell and attached it to the back of the toe of the green piece then stuck all of the pieces together. I popped in an eyelet and added some bakers twine then cut some thin strips from the scraps of green card and glued across the middle of the red section.

Holly-day Tags

Hello!

I have a Christmas staple for you today…a holly cut file, we all need some holly for our Christmas crafting, right? :) There are 3 different shaped leaves included so you can cut multiples of the central shape for a more symmetrical look or mix them up.

I started my annual Christmas tag making session today, I reckon I’ve got about half of them done, another chunk to do tomorrow and that should be enough. I used the stocking from last years Christmas 1 Cut File set for my tag which I cut in kraft coloured card and again in white card for the backing to write my message on. I cut the top, heel and toe parts in  a red and white gingham and attached to the stockings then embossed a snowflake pattern on them with a texture plate. I popped in a white eyelet and threaded with some red and white bakers twine. I cut some green holly leaves from today’s freebie, I folded them slightly to add some dimension then placed a glittery dome in the middle to represent my berries.
