‘from our house’ card + freebies – First Posted: Thursday, November 18, 2010

Hello Hello,

I have a Christmas Door digital stamp complete with its own little holly wreath, also I have a matching ‘from our house to yours’ sentiment for you. I hope you like them and they will come in handy for you in your Christmas projects.

To add texture to my door and to give it the look of paneling, I coloured it with markers then went over it with different shades of brown pencils. I shaded the windows as though there is a warm light inside and added a layer of glossy accents to give the look of glass, sadly the photo doesn’t pick this up but it is very effective. I added some distressing to the different layers including the sentiment with some distress ink and finished with some faux stitching with a paper piercer and some white gel pen and finally a few mini sticky gems on the wreath.

and so it begins… – First Posted: Saturday, November 13, 2010

Ok, Ok, I’m giving in and starting my Christmas projects today! I have seen some wonderful creations going up on others blogs for a while now and couldn’t resist any longer, I absolutely love Christmas and the more glittery the better as far as I am concerned. I felt that some Digital Stamps were way overdue so I have a Holly Wreath to start you off with. I also have a matching sentiment frame to border the wreath if you fancy although it can be used on any Christmas-sy project and is dead simple to cut out with your Nesties or any other circle cutter system. I hope you like them.

I sized both images in Word ensuring that the sentiment frame would be large enough to fit around the holly wreath image when I cut it out with my circle Nestabilities. I printed my image twice to add dimension by layering the bow, I coloured them with markers and pencils and added some glossy accents to the bow and popped up with 3D foam pads. I cut a circle mat in red card and to add a little sparkle I swiped a versamark pad over all of the edges and embossed with Stempendous Crystal embossing powder for a great glittery touch, I can’t speak highly enough of their embossing powders, I’ve only tried them recently but I love them! Ok, I finished the card by using a scalloped circle Nestability to create the card base and popped on a few strategically placed sticky backed gems.

Hi There,

I’ve made some more circle frames for your sentiments for you, these have a channel through the middle where you can either stamp, write or print your sentiment. As these are circles you can either die cut them with your Spellbinder Nestabilities, use your circle punches, circle scissor, colluzle etc or simply trim around them with your scissors. I hope you like them and will find them useful.

I used frame number 4 for my card, I inserted it into Word and sized it to match the circle die I wanted to use then changed the colour to a teal shade of blue to match my paper. I added my sentiment which I turned red and placed in the middle of the frame before printing it out and die cutting. I shaded the image with some pencils and added some sticky gems for dimension, all in all, a quick and easy focal point for my card. I used my patterned paper to dictate the colour scheme of my card but realised once I had finished it that it looks very Christmassy, oops it wasn’t meant to, lol.
