Butterfly Pop-up Wing Card Freebie

Hi Guys!

I have a new freebie for you today, it is a butterfly card where the wings bend forward to give the card some fun dimension. There is also an envelope for the card in your download.

To assemble your card:

  1. Glue the patterned paper that surrounds the butterfly to the front of your card.
  2. Attach the butterfly to the front of your card by adding glue to just the body area.
  3. Glue the little body piece on top.
  4. Attach the square piece of paper to the reverse of the butterfly on the inside of the card ensuring not to add glue to the wing area.

The layers on the inside of the card help to counterbalance the detail on the front of the card and it’s a chance to use some more pretty patterned paper:

I hope you like today’s freebie and it will come in handy for you. We would love to see your version in our facebook group so feel free to join and share it with us :)

A personal note

2017 has been an extremely tough year for me. As many of you know, my fiance passed away suddenly in April.

Ever since I lost Austin, it has felt as though I’ve been in a fog, thinking clearly and focusing is tricky. It’s like I’m walking through treacle, any task I attempt takes longer than it did. Although I expected to have a hard time emotionally, I didn’t realise how much my ability to work would be effected. This has meant that I haven’t been able to release any many collections this year as I would have liked.

I am ever so grateful for my awesome design team who have continued to create wonderful and creative projects which have helped to inspire us all while I’ve been quiet, I am very lucky to have them.

I would like to thank every single one of you for your support this year and hope that I can be more productive in 2018 and will be able to bring you many more collections.

Happy New Year! :)

Merry Christmas Cards

Good Afternoon!

Today I’d like to encourage you look at the SVGs in your stash to see if you can use them in different ways. I wanted to share how even one element from a collection could come in very handy in a pinch.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make all of my Christmas cards from scratch this year so I added some simple embellishments to shop bought cards I already had to make them a bit more festive.

Here are the 5″ x 7″ cards I purchased from M&S, they are a satin mirror with embossed writing:

For each card I used one frame and a few red gems:

The holly frame is from the White Christmas SVG collection, you will find it on the ‘Robin Card Layer 2’ page. I could have cut my frames at the original size but I chose to resize them to 6.5″ wide so my cards have a border around the outside edge.

Here’s how my finished cards look:

Hopefully next year I can return to fully handmade creations for the people in my life and in the meantime, I hope this years recipients will be happy with their cards :)
