Background 15

Hi Guys!

I have a new background pattern for you today, as always you have the background panel and a matching background card to add to your collections. I’m excited to turn this one into an embossing folder/plate using this method to see what effect it will give :)

I tried something different with my background panel today, I cut my panel from some cream card then cut it again from 3 different patterned papers to fill in the negative space to create a patchwork style effect. My flower came from the Flowers 1 set and the stem from Stems 1, I gently curved the pieces with a pencil to add some dimension before I glued them into place and finished with a Cream Sparkle.

Such a pretty card – love how the background turned out! Wondering how you cut out the words, is that a cut file too or is it just cut with a machine or diecut. Very nice, thanks for sharing!

I picked a script font that I liked from my computer and cut it with my Zing (cutting machine), I cut it 4 times and stuck them together with glue :)

Fabulous card Bird and great idea to cut the background to mix and match the little pieces! Thanks for the wonderful cutfile and have a great weekend.

Colors I would never choose, but it’s beautiful. I’m not clear about cutting 3 patterns papers…….there would be four layers glued together? Thank you, again, Bird.

I cut the design 4 times, once from some plain card and the other 3 times were from some patterned paper (designer paper some call it). I glued the plain card outline onto a piece of scrap card then used the internal pieces from the 3 different patterned papers to fill in the gaps. I put a spot of glue into the gap and placed the patterned pieces in stripes although they are similar colours so it might not be that easy to see.

I hope that makes more sense :)

I love it! This is one of my favourite patterns in general, so I’m thrilled that you created a cut background of it. Love your patchwork idea, too!

The quatrefoil file is just so perfect. I have wanted this shape for quite some time. I have an quatrefoil embossing folder.

Anxious now to make a card with it.

Thank you so much for sharing this.
