Good Afternoon!
Ok, so Halloween is over and that means one thing…it’s Christmas-a-go-go! I know that some people start a lot earlier than me but I feel that it is a good point to concentrate on the Festive period from Halloween onwards and it should give me time to get quite a few Christmas-y projects up before the big day.
I posted this digital stamp of a Santa stuck in a chimney a few years back and thought it was about time I made a cut file version, today’s the day :) I also have the next installment of my background designs, today you have a brick pattern, well it had to be for today’s project didn’t it? ;)
Pic.1. Here are all of the parts contained in the cut file, I chose a piece of shimmery black card for my card base as this will become Santa’s boots. I chose some terracotta coloured card for the chimney and the obligatory red and white for Santa’s trousers as well as the snow:
Pic.2. I used the brick background to emboss the larger chimney piece using the method I shared here. I applied a coat of Aged Mahogany distress ink over the surface of both pieces of the chimney to accentuate the embossed areas then applied some Walnut Stain to darken the edges:
Pic.3. All of the pieces are glued/taped into place except the smaller chimney piece which is attached with 3d foam pads to add some dimension:
Pic.4. Here is the finished card, I applied some Woodware fluffy stuff to the white areas which puffs up when you heat it with your heat gun:
Pic.5. A close up of the fluffy areas:

As an alternative to terracotta brick, how about creating a grey wall and covering it with vines and flowers?
