Crystal Snowflake Card + Sentiment – First Posted: Sunday, November 21, 2010

Hello all,

I’ve realised this week that Christmas has been creeping up on me faster than I had realised so I’ve been starting my Christmas shopping and it’s going quite well, I’ve sorted about half of my side of the family so far but as this is only the third Christmas Card I’ve done I really need to get my bum into gear!

My inspiration for this card came from seeing these Star Gems online, they reminded me of some teardrop shaped gems I’ve had in my stash for a long time and until now didn’t know what to do with. I played around with some patterns and added some different sized round gems until I was happy then stuck them all down onto a white circle and layered with some blue glitter card and attached to an acetate window I created using some transparencies from a stationary store and my Nestabilities. I changed the colour of my digi sentiment in Word and layered with more of the glitter card and the loopy border from my free cut files.

Pleated Ribbon Flowers, Card + Tag – First Posted: Wednesday, November 03, 2010

Good Morning,

I don’t know if you saw this tutorial by Maya Road on their blog but I love these little pleated ribbon flowers they made and I thought aha! I can make those as I used to make Rosettes and have some very similar pleated ribbon in my stash. I showed the tutorial to my Mum and she thought that they might look a little more ‘flower like’ without the button if the ribbon went right through to the middle, so armed with my trusty hot glue gun I gave both a try. See what you think.

You know, although I like both, I think Mum had a point about them looking more ‘flower like’ without the button. So Mums birthday came round and guess which one I used on her card.

Glittery birthday card – First Posted: Monday, June 07, 2010

Here is a card I made for a family member. I scored my card base with my new Martha Stewart score board, I already know I’m going to love this thing! I knew I wanted to use this gorgeous card from the DCWV spring mat pack, it is a mass of glittery flowers which you can’t quite see in the photo. My sentiment is made up of printing and die cut letters and framed with a die from Joy (cut and emboss dies similar to Spellbinders). I threaded some ribbon through a Spellbinders Lotus border, used their Jumbo scallop border for the bottom edge and finished with some flower shaped buttons.
