I’ve always thought I would give this a try and then never do! Maybe it’s the gluing the two pieces together that stops me. I make such a mess with glue! Beautiful file for today. Thanks so much.
Hi Linda, please see my comment on Birds page, she may also give your more advice, but play with different card until you get the desired effect, is only card at the end of the day!!
I just dotted the glue on here and there, it tried to ooze out in a couple of spots but I ran my finger over those areas before it dried.
I make such a mess with glue too so I know what you mean, I think I tend to use too much of it so I’m trying to use much smaller amounts these days :)
Thanks again for another beautiful file. I live in the USA and want to know can I achieve this with my Cricut Explore and embossing folders.
I don’t see why not, it should work with any cutting machine and any manual embosser such as cuttlebug/big shot etc :)
Thank you Bird, another lovely card, might just be able to get this one started before the grand kids get here!
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely cutting file. I can cut them, just can’t design them. You are so generous to share with us.
Fabulous again, love cutting designs out and embossing with them, even managed corners and a borders, not making many cards – just sit playing
Linda from Arizona I have used a thicker card, like hammered card weight and it worked with just one layer of card, you may need to add a shim, depending on which embossing machine you use, I have an ebosser which is fab also :)
That’s a great idea, I’ve only embossed with large repeating patterns so far but yes, why not do the same with other shapes too, you are clever :)
Thank you little birdie!

you’re fabulous – so is this… I too always mean to do some embossing with some of your background/stencil files… I just nearly bought some embossing folders from create and craft, but one could actually sit and build an embossing folder pattern by putting the design on some card – a little like a folder – similar to how the patterns are built on the plastic folders… well, it either works or it doesn’t – only card at the end of the day!!! We don’t get anywhere by not trying, and as I always say (I say it to all my family too; kids, hubby, sister, mum etc): better to TRY and fail, because failing to try is to certainly FAIL.

p.s. I finally managed to leave a comment on the KnK DT blog today – first time, and I try everytime you post there and still end up coming back here!!! xx
Thank you so much for the beautiful cut files and tips on making our own embossing designs! I love embossing too, but have always has such limited options with purchased embossing folders. Now, if someone would only create an affordable 12×12 paper embossing machine…ahhh, a girl can dream!
Thank you for the file.
I love this card. My niece is getting married in just about a month and this would be a great card to make for them.
Thank you very much!!!
What a gorgeous pattern! I never thought of using a cut file for embossing, how clever of you! I am truly grateful for your generous sharing!
Simply gorgeous and will do for a birthday I have coming up. Thank You
