Getting Organised in the Kitchen
Hi Guys!
I thought I’d pop in and show you the fun I’ve been having in my new kitchen with some re-positionable chalkboard vinyl and a chalk marker. I found a mahussive 2 meter roll of the vinyl on ebay for a fiver which I thought was pretty good, I love the fact that It’s re-positionable and I can easily rip it off anything I place it on and there’s literally no trace of it ever having been there. The only downside was that I originally wanted to use the vinyl on the side of my jars but it kept peeling itself off so it looks like it’s only suitable for flat surfaces but it’s staying on the lids perfectly, it’s a small payoff for the versatility it gives me.
Here’s how my spices, herbs and pulses etc look on my shelves now. I measured the lids of my cookie and kilner jars then cut a mass of circles on my Zing so I have plenty of labels left over for future jars, I placed the vinyl circles on my lids then wrote the contents on there as I filled each jar. The chalk marker is smudge free but wipes off with a wet cloth, clever huh?
I had hardly made a dent in my vinyl so I decided to make a little shopping list blackboard, it literally took 5 minutes to cut and have up in place ready to use. I have added the cut file below if you would like it :)
I placed my chalkboard next to my key hooks so I had somewhere to hold my chalk pen. I tied some thread around my marker then tied the other end onto one of the hooks, my marker sits happily on top of the hooks and the thread prevents the marker from falling onto the floor or getting lost.

So, I still have approx half of my vinyl left so I may be back to show how else I use it, I don’t have any plans just yet but of course I’m open to ideas ;)
Your pantry is looking great! So organized. The shopping list board is a very clever idea. As always, thank you for sharing the cut file!
What a great ideal and your spices are just so organized. Thanks for sharing.
Oh WOW
You won’t believe how appropriate this is right now…
I was literally only talking about this with my son a couple of days ago, disgussing the most appropriate way to ensure we all write down when something runs out – in a place where we will all see it. I was about to do something on the PC then laminate it – but this is by far a better and neater idea.
Thank you for the file – I just need some of the chalkboard vinyl and a marker now… I could then make a couple more for gifts.
Again, thank you for your continued generousity.

p.s. apologies for writing 2 comments on a couple of your previous posts – I completely forget whether I’ve written you a comment and instead of looking, just write one – then when it publishes, I realise I left the one above or a few above my latest… I should look in future!! (It’s not my age, it’s the drugs they give me lol)!!!

ah this was a timely post then , I am pleased :)
My goodness, you have everything so nice and neat and pretty. Was just thinking the other day that my walk-in pantry sure could use a good cleaning and also in need of some organizsation.
You better right down pasta on your boaard :}
Coconut powder? Never heard or come across it. What do you use it in?
Thank You
ColleenB.
ha ha pasta is definitely on there now!
My other half bought the coconut powder but we haven’t used it yet. He likes to try weird and wonderful things, It’s probably an ingredient in an Asian recipe he’s looked up.
Fantastic job Bird, just wish I could be so organised. Great idea too with the shopping list, all I need now is some chalkboard vinyl. Thanks for sharing.

Great idea, right up my street, I like everything in its place and a place for everything.
Just wondering if you could advise the name of the font you have used when sharing all your wonderful files.
If I remember correctly the font is called ‘The Amazing Grace’ :)
