Help & Welcome Baby
Good Afternoon!
I could do with some advise, any help would be appreciated. Here in the UK we have 2 Companies (Dovercraft & Papermania) who sell 12 x 12 inch plain coloured paper packs that I use to make envelopes. Is there anything similar to this available in the US or elsewhere at all? I am wondering as I have been designing some envelopes and wondered if everyone can source large enough papers to cut them in one piece.
…and onto today’s freebie, I have a new Sentiment Edge Card for you. I thought I’d add a Baby version to your collection while I’ve been sharing Baby Cards in some of my other styles recently. Here’s how it goes together :)
Here’s your Free Cut File – Formats include ai, dxf, gsd, mtc, pdf, studio & svg:

Could you look on AmazonUK and get paper that way? We have a lot of craft stores here in the U.S. With 12×12 paper but I’m not sure about shipping internationally. AmazonUK might be a good place to start.
By the way, thanks for all your lovely cut files. I enjoy them and also love to see your examples.

I can source paper here in the UK, I was unsure if 12×12 paper in plain colours was available elsewhere (approx 120gsm/45lbs) if so that’s great news :)
I see what you mean… No we don’t have a lot of lightweight, plain color paper in the 12×12 size. It’s mainly card stock weight or light weight patterned paper. Sorry about that.
In Canada we have Micheal’s that sells 12 X 12 papers.
Thank you for your great file.

We have a lot of paper sources in the US for 12×12, both white and colored. A lot of craft stores and speciality paper crafting stores sell the 12×12 solids in packs, either in individual colors or multiple colors. No problem there!
And thank you for your files. I love seeing what new things you have come up with.
Hi Bird!
Thanks so much for all your awesome work! I love all your designs! I live in the United States and can tell you that 12 X 12 paper is readily available. We have a number of craft stores, even Wal-Mart, that sell it in packs and and some craft stores that sell them individually.
Thanks again,
Sincerely,
Michelle

Thanks so much for your help guys, you’re stars :)
Thank you so much for these creative files!

New this year for Stampin’ Up is Envelope Paper – a thin text weight 12 X 12 (inches) paper for making envelopes. In the past I’ve used lighter weight scrapbooking paper. Envelope cut files would be fun!
That sounds perfect! :)
As we are on the paper topic. I love the paper you used with all the whales!
Thanks as always for your wonderful files.
That was on old S.E.I. pack Ive been hoarding, I’m trying to be better and actually use my favourite papers :)
I live in Nova Scotia Canada and we are able to buy 12 x 12 paper at various craft and big box stores.
I would love to see your envelope designs as all your files are just great. I appreciate all your hard
work in uploading them for all to use.
Thanks again
Great! Thanks for your help :)
I’m in Canada. Not only is 12 x 12 paper readily available in various weights, I know lots of crafters need ways to use 12 x 12 sheets out of a big pack. Often a pack includes some sheets that you’re not terribly fond of or where the pattern’s scale doesn’t work on a card. I was on a forum thread recently where we talked about how envelopes are a great way to use those sheets. You can either make a snazzy patterned envelope or use the pattern as the INSIDE and have a nice white envelope with a snazzy surprise interior.
No matter what, I heartily encourage you to explore envelopes cut from 12 x 12, Bird! Would love to see what you do with them!
Thanks for asking and for your unending creative generosity.
That is very true, some patterned papers might be suitable for envelopes, I like the idea of putting the pattern on the inside too :) Thanks for your help Carol!
I am in Canada, and I use MAMBI paper packs (12×12″) for envelopes. The paper is lighter than cardstock but perfect for envelopes. I would LOVE envelope cut files. Thank you for all your lovely sharing. It is much appreciated. (MAMBI stands for Me And My Big Ideas)
That’s a brand I wasn’t aware of, thanks for the heads up, I’ve even found a stockist in the UK :)
I live in Ireland and have found beautiful patterned 12×12 papers in TK Maxx by Recollections, also by K&Company and plain 12x12papers by American crafts. They were in the homewares section where the books were. Its not a store you would automatically think of for crafting supplies and I just stumbled across them, but now I check when I’m there for any because the prices are so good.
Hope this helps and thank you for being so generous with your cut files
wow, I would not have thought to look in there, I’ll have to have a sneaky peak :)
You amaze me. I use a Cricut to cut out your lovely images. I use 12X12 all the time on it and would love to use your envelope files. You always have yhe most beautiful things that cut without fuss. I am the US and 12X12 is abundantly available. Thank you so much.
Awesome, thanks Katherine :)
I found 12 x 18 copy paper at the office supply chain in the US, Office Depot. It is copy paper weight which should be fine for envelopes and the 12 x 18 should work on my Cameo mat. Thank you for this lovely card.
oh that’s ideal, nice one :)
You can buy rolls of gift wrap to use as envelopes. Just use an address sticker for the address and return address and you can put one where the stamp goes so the post office can see the stamp. Works great!
Of course! That’s a great idea :)
Hi Bird – I just popped by, first time in a while – I tend to come when I pop on the PC…. Anyway, if you haven’t already sourced some, may I suggest some paper retailers such as Lime Tree Crafts – they go and do the papercraft shows with all sorts of stuff, but will sell online too – they didn’t have a website last time I ordered (which was some time ago), but should be able to google them.
Crafting Ltd (Stephanie Weightman’s company) in Derbyshire do those packs with oversized paper and card combined but I think the colours are pot luck. They’re all double sided and pearlised – very pretty, but it’s a matter of getting what you get rather than ordering for the colour content.
I know also that Crafters Companion do larger sheets – for their enveloped boards etc, so worth a look…
There is also ‘The Range’ – they do larger sheets that can be cut down, but this may work out more expensive – but at least you can choose your colours – and shade for that matter! They obviously carry Docrafts and Papermania stock too. The only other one I can think of that you may have access to is HobbyCraft. Probably expensive though. I bought a lot of mine when a local scrap shop was selling up and she had a sale on 12×12. Have you checked out Create and Craft – they carry more of the big names stuff like DCWV, Prima, Graphic 45, Heartfelt Creations etc. Not all of it is cardstock weight. C&C also have their own line of Bazil Basics – but slightly cheaper.
Thank you for the lovely cut files – looks like I have a bit of catching up to do.
