Free Digital Sentiments, Free Digital Stamps

back on your feet

Good Morning!

I’ve had a small break from crafting as a few things were getting to me, who knew I would upset people by giving things away for free? Maybe I’m stepping on some toes or something. Well, it never hurts to recharge the ol’ batteries but now I’ve got to get those creative juices flowing again.

A family member had a Knee Op last week so I wanted to wish them well and this seemed so appropriate. I drew this little tortoise/turtle and matching sentiment which I used on my card and also made a circle combining both the image and sentiment to give you a choice of how to use it. I think it would look really cool if the circle was printed off twice and the outside sentiment was cut out and popped up on 3D foam pads as a raised frame similar to how I did in this post.

I coloured my tortoise/turtle with Copics adding little spots in a darker colour then added some shine with a Sakura glaze pen to his little eye, toe nails and shell and sponged the background with distress inks. My layout came from this weeks Decontructing Jen sketch and my colours came from The Play Date Cafe. Mint and Coral aren’t colours I would ordinarily think to use together but I think it actually works, this is why I am really enjoying taking part in challenges as it forces me to take more risks and try things I wouldn’t have on my own.

My Memories Giveaway

Hiyah!

I have a giveaway for you today from the lovely people at My Memories who are offering a copy of their Digital Scrapbooking Software to one of you guys, a prize worth $39.97, cool huh?

I had a play with it for a couple of hours, it has some scrapbooking elements already within it and there are some free kits on their website which I made use of to create a Halloween Card. As I mentioned I only had a couple of hours to have a play with the software and couldn’t seem to find a way to change the colour of the small elements and did it find it a bit tricky to work on lower layers once I had added layers on top of them but maybe in some more time I could have found ways around that. What stood out to me the most however was how straight forward this software is to use, you can easily find your way around with very little computer experience and I love the way you can use any papers or kits etc you already have saved on your computer, if you’re anything like me you’ll have a folder full of a ton of free downloads to dip in to ;)

Here’s my digital card:
