Box Envelopes
Hi Guys!
Having a larger cutting machine means that I can now cut larger items such as envelopes and boxes in one go, yay! So, today I have a square box envelope cut file to hold your dimensional cards. If you don’t have an electronic cutting machine, don’t worry, I have a photo tutorial on how to make them by hand using a scoring board here.
If you rotate the cut file 45 degrees you will waste less card but I have left the cut file at this angle deliberately so it is easier to size your envelope to match your card before you turn it and cut. I cut envelopes for 6 inch and 5 inch square cards, the 6 inch envelope is half an inch deep and the 5 inch version is slightly shallower.
Here’s your Free Cut File – Formats include ai, dxf, gsd, mtc, pdf, studio & svg:

thanks will come in very handy.
I simply love you! This will definitely come in handy.
This is great. I have made them from scratch but this is much better!! Thanks.
Oh my gosh…I received a Christmas card in an envelope like this…the card was amazing, but I was so taken with the darned envelope and was going to try to muddle through to make one…I have been saved LOL!!! Perfect timing!!!
Love this box envelope! Thank you so much! Here’s a little thing I found out quite by accident: If you reduce it to where the outside dimensions read of the entire envelope reads 5.285 x 5.285, it fits a square of Ghirardelli Chocolate perfectly! I used a full sheet of Scrapbook 12×12 paper and got 1 5×5 box envelope and 5 of the candy box envelopes! I used printed paper and they look so cute!!!
Thanks for the great tip Debbie!
The perfect envelope. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! Very useful!
Thank you so much Bird, such a useful file. You are a star!

Blessings and thank you and happy new year to you Hugs Nana Kat
awesome! thank you. I was actually looking for one a couple weeks ago and couldn’t find one. I hope these will ship your New Years curve card well :)
Thank you for sharing your great files!
Do you know if costs extra postage to mail a box envelope the size of a greeting card? I have always wondered how people mail the beautiful layered cards too thick for a standard envelope…
Just found your blog and will definitely be back. Thanks so much for this great file. I am off to give it a try. Just got my Cameo the first of December and loving it!
This will be so handy…thank you Bird :) Wishing you a very Happy New Year.
This will be so helpful. Thanks for sharing.
This is just what I needed for a pop up card………THANKS!

Thank you for sharing your files.
Fabulous! I was just thinking about something like this so that the lovely ribbon bows would not get smashed. Thank you!
Thanks so much- I really needed this!
Thank you for sharing
This is excellent! I just want to know how I could convert the dashed cut lines to score lines now. I’d prefer this but not sure how to do this on my cutter using SCAL3? …Anyone out there can help please??
Wow! Thank you so much for this file. Most of the cards I make are 6X6 and I have to make boxes with the envelope punch board which is very inconvenient…its great for envelopes but not boxes. This is truly a Godsend.
you are such a lovely lady with your free files – guess you just dont want to see a lot of hairless ladies walking about and throwing cutting machines out of the window! LOL Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing all your free files with us x
Just found your link via pinterest- and shared with some friends!!! Thank you so much for the files, I have such a hard time doing envelopes and this will help me sooooo much! <3
