Frugal Challenge 3
Hi Guys!
I don’t have a freebie for you today I’m afraid, I’ve been struggling for inspiration just lately so I thought I’d set myself a new frugal challenge.
I’m one for saving all manner of packaging and wrappings but I invariably end up just storing it rather than getting round to using it, not today! I dug out some decorative cellophane that came wrapped around some fresh flowers and made myself sit down and actually do something with it.
I cut a window in my card with a circle die and taped a panel of the cellophane that wasn’t too creased behind it, I die cut another piece of black card and covered all of the taped areas inside the card to keep it nice and neat.
I hand cut several of the different sized flowers from the remaining cellophane and layered them in stacks of three, I popped a brad into the middles to hold them together then I scrunched them up to give them some dimension. I cut some of the leaves from the cellophane and stuck them behind the flowers and adhered them to the edge of the window in my card.
I cut a banner from black and white card using Banners 1 and cut my sentiment in white using this font, I glued all of these pieces together then added a flower button and some thread to the banner before popping it onto my card with 3d foam pads.
Aww Bird this is beautiful, I love what you’ve done with the cellophane. This has given me a lot of inspiration for the wrapping that I have. Thanks for sharing. x
Beautiful, who knew?

Absolutely gorgeous! I have some cellophane from some flowers I received, will have to try it x

Bird, thank you so much for this inspiration, I also tend to keep cellophane from fresh flowers and not use it, but this is a great idea to try. Also thank you so much for sharing your cutting designs, you are such a lovely generous person. Bx

This turned out beautifully. Love the flowers! What do you mean you are struggling with inspiration? Think you may have found it.
Bird,
You don’t have to have a “free” file to share with your friends what you are doing.
You are joy, with or without a file.

A lovely idea, and always welcome to inspire us all :) Thanks
That’s gorgeous Bird!I don’t comment often and most of your freebies I can’t use-no cutting machine, except my trusty Cuttlebug. It’s lovely to see what you’ve done as a frugal challange!
That’s really innovative, love it! Had you thought about an accordion swing card style yet? It would give more little places on which to attach the cellophane. Thanks so much for sharing all your designs, its really inspiring.
That is so pretty! And creative.
Beautifully done! You are truly an inspiration to me!
Blessings,
Melitta
How unusual and lovely! I often find that when I challenge myself to use something I have had a long time it is when I am at my most creative. xx
Oh Bird – what a totally stunning card – absolutely LOVE it!
I am soooo into re-cycling so inevitably, if I think it can be put to good use, I save it – if not, it gets recycled (we have excellent facilities in NE Derbyshire)…
I also have some cellophane from a bunch/bouquet of flowers – can’t remember the pattern, but you’ve just set the standard for recycling that stuff! lol
Wishing you well…
