Merry Christmas Cards
Good Afternoon!
Today I’d like to encourage you look at the SVGs in your stash to see if you can use them in different ways. I wanted to share how even one element from a collection could come in very handy in a pinch.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make all of my Christmas cards from scratch this year so I added some simple embellishments to shop bought cards I already had to make them a bit more festive.
Here are the 5″ x 7″ cards I purchased from M&S, they are a satin mirror with embossed writing:
For each card I used one frame and a few red gems:
The holly frame is from the White Christmas SVG collection, you will find it on the ‘Robin Card Layer 2’ page. I could have cut my frames at the original size but I chose to resize them to 6.5″ wide so my cards have a border around the outside edge.
Here’s how my finished cards look:
Hopefully next year I can return to fully handmade creations for the people in my life and in the meantime, I hope this years recipients will be happy with their cards :)
Great idea!
So pretty! Wonderful idea, thank you.
Beautiful!
I will look at cards in the shops in a different way now. I didn’t make a single card this year which is very unusual for me. Thank you very much for this idea – I will look closely at the cards in the January sales to see if any can be embellished in case I run out of steam too early in 2018 too.
Happy Holidays and all the very best for 2018
Love how you made a simple card into something special Bird. Merry Christmas and a big thankyou for all the great files enabling me to do some great gifts for my family.
Very pretty card. Nice job thinking outside the box!
This is so pretty! This set is going to be a big favourite with me for years to come!
