Truck Card

Hi Guys!

I’m still knee deep in packing, isn’t it funny how you accumulate so much more stuff over time than you realised and you discover all kinds of things that you haven’t seen for years or had completely forgotten that you own at all. I’m definitely using the move as a chance to have a big old clear out and get rid of a load of stuff that I really don’t need to be holding on to, and nope, that doesn’t include my craft stash ;) That won’t be going anywhere but in my new craft room!

A little boy in my family has a Birthday coming up soon so today I’m sharing the card I have made for him. I have some toys for him that have moving parts and make fun noises, one of them is a Rubbish Truck with a bin on the side that slides up and tips at the top. I thought he’d enjoy receiving a card to match one of his pressies so that’s what I’ve picked to do, the back of the truck on my card tips up and the little yellow bin on the side slides up and down too.

I picked colours of card which matched the toy truck, it was quite straight forward to put together but it is worth remembering to add the little grey strips of card to the side of the truck before you pop your bin in place. To add the bin I glued the yellow pieces together then added 2 small 3d foam pads to the very middle of the back of the bin and slotted them through the slit in the truck, I added a piece of card that was larger than the slit to the other side of the foam pads once the bin was in place ensuring that the bin can’t fall off. Once all of the other pieces have been glued together and the side of the truck is assembled, you can attach it with a brad in the bottom left corner which allows it to tip up (see the second photo).
